Snow (our wonderful weather)

by Valerie Bodden
(ages 5-10) While this book is factually written for the science buff in the family, the photographs are impressive and can even appeal to our artistic sides. Real photographs of snowy scenes and elements of this weather phenomenon, show off nature in a cool way. You’ll see contrasts in heavy dark and bright light as well as some more subtle, calm and monochromatic images of a cloudy sky, and ironically a blizzard - isn’t nature amazing! I especially love the light and dark contrasts with the igloo on the “contents” page that make it look surreal, the close up of the snowflake and the snow so deep just the top of the street sign is visible. Learn a little about meteorologists, the 3 states of water, some historical snow storms and more!
