How to prepare your materials: We recommend printing background and character images onto heavy cardstock or printable fabric for continued use over an extended period of time. After printing, separate individual characters by cutting with scissors, leaving a slight white border around each character for easier cutting. Use cut characters as story board pieces or tape a tongue depressor to the back of each character to use as stick puppets. For “self staying” story board character pieces, paste felt on the back to allow characters to better “hold” to a fabric/felt/flannel background surface such as a flannel board, upholstered sofa or blanket-lined surface. (See our Favorites section for some suggestions for “peel and stick” or iron on felt options)
For added durability when printing onto cardstock, you can laminate your cards, if desired. If you prefer low-key, you can simply print on paper and cut.
Store in a zip-lock bag (or see our Favorites page for zippered storage pouch suggestions).
